S3E15: Don’t Take No for an Answer

This is my response: don’t take no for an answer*.

And to finish a thought I started in the video – I told about how I didn’t join band in 6th grade, but then I did in 7th grade. This had a huge impact on my life, since I went on to major in music and completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, before teaching band for a year and then playing clarinet as a Marine Musician for several years.

Now, I’m not taking no for an answer – no publisher was even given the opportunity to decline my manuscript. I prepped it, ran it through the gamut of feedback and edits, and pushed it out there. It’s a risk, but it’s *my* risk, and the satisfaction is mine as well. Thus will it be with my next book, and the next.

I’m not 100% opposed to trad publishing. If they discover me and come to me with a distribution offer, I’ll entertain it. But I’m not going looking for them, at least not at this time.
