GCP S2:E20 – Historical Fiction Adventure with Author J. Clifton Slater

Today’s episode features an interview with Historical Fiction Author J. Clifton Slater, who has a well-established career of “making ancient Rome readable!” He builds on historical events and writes into the space that history doesn’t cover.

Our discussion went long and began to cover topics dealing with the work-life balance, so check back on Monday, Dec 18 to hear the rest of the conversation!

GCP S2:E19 – Nightshade Unicorn: Forerunner, Chapter 3

Welcome to the Grendhill Chronicles Podcast. I am your host, Don Bishop, and I write as T.S. Pedramon. It’s late for me, I’m tired, and I have to get up early, so you get no visual on today’s episode. In this episode I will read to you the third, and final free installment, of Nightshade Unicorn: Forerunner.

As promised two weeks ago, I will now tell you where you can listen to more chapters of the story, but unfortunately I can’t offer that for free because I am serializing in Kindle Vella and they have rules. Kindle Vella is a paid platform, and Amazon doesn’t want their users paying for content that can be found for free elsewhere. So, I am glad to make the story available, but you will have to subscribe.
Now, in order to continue listening to the story beyond today’s episode, you can go to my SubStack. That’s Grendhill.SubStack.com, or G-R-E…

If you want to jump straight to the serial content, which you can do, and I will post the first three chapters again over on Substack, and the first three chapters will still be free, that URL is https://grendhill.substack.com/p/welcome.

Now, as of December 7, 2023, there is only a brief welcome episode uploaded. Give me at least a day or two to start posting the story there, because I will not be using AI generated voices, so that means I have to re-record chapter 1–or rather, record it in the first place.

Thanks to the Descript software’s “studio sound” feature, I’ve decided it’s not too tedious to record myself reading to you, but it will still take me a little bit of time.

Before we jump into the story narration for today, I need to mention our “Fantasty” contest that concluded last Thursday. I’d like to thank those who sent in your submissions. They all looked very tasty. We haven’t had a chance to sit down and pick a winner yet, but I hope to do that in the next couple of days, and we can announce that next week and send the talented chef the $35 gift card we promised. So, that is still pending, we haven’t forgotten, but we don’t have any announcement for that today.

Also, please tune in next week, when you’ll be able to hear the first half of a stimulating conversation with author J. Clifton Slater, with the second half continuing in the following episode.

For now, please enjoy the story.
